UNDERSTANDING FRACTIONS

In this module, you can study what fractions are and some words associated with fractions.

The video above shows you what fractions mean and also explains some of the words people use when talking about fractions.

The above video explains what a fraction is and where to find the numerator and denominator of a fraction.

Did you know?

Fractions can be larger than 1.

The fraction "3/4" can mean "3 out of 4 equal parts of a whole".  It can also mean "3 divided by 4".

If a circle is divided into 4 equal parts where one part is shaded and three parts are not shaded, then the shaded part is 1/4.
